Scooter premiere 2014, Stockholm

The scooter premiere was held on Saturday 26 of April in Stockholm. 85 scooters, mostly Vespas and Lambrettas (and one Cosa!), participated in the lovely weather. Organized beautifully by Svenska Scooterklubben, Lambretta Club Stockholm, Vespa Club Stockholm and Stockholm Mods Scooter Club.

Another Utilitaria found

My South American correspondent Raul has sent me these pictures. A newly found Vespa 125U in Argentina. He didn't tell me much more than some parts are missing. No pics of handlebar and headlamp, are they missing? Maybe we'll know further on.

I'm back - on a new Vespa

Except that it isn't new. It's a 1959 Vespa Touring, as they were called in Sweden. An export modell with the 6 hp/150 cc engine but with ten inch wheels.
It has been idle for some years but with some TLC it fired up.
It actually came with an older brother; a 1958 Vespa Touring, the orange one below. Some differences, the older one has the carburettor under the single seat. On the 1959 it's on top of the engine. Both had single seats when sold by the way.

In it's original blue.

The original tire from the Swedish Värnamo brand.

The older one with a non-original colour.

At the Imola fair 2013

Been ever so lazy here on the blog. Anyway here is some pictures from the Mostra e scambio d'Epoca at Imola in september 2013. Lots of Vespa, Lambretta, MV, Iso, Moto Guzzi, Rumi etc. Bought some useful parts for my scooters. Although no scooter this year. A Lambretta J50 was of interest, original paint and complete. But I was too greedy I think, haggling to much.

The speedo of the russian counterfeit Vespa called Vjatka.

Russian letters...

Bulkier, heavier, less powerful and 12-inch wheels.

Nice MV Augusta Ovunque 125 cc scooter.

It's a heavy load...

What's wrong with the faro basso, except the tail light?

Three shades of the Ape.

Skelly?

Rumi Formichino with side car.

The card board game for Vespistas!

Lambretta 150 D?

Stuff I bought at the fair.

...and Cosa crash bars...

...another pic.

Lambretta tools.

Lambrettino, 48 cc.

Nice or ugly?

Jet 200.

150 special.

This Cosa once belonged to a reggae fan.

Eskilsphenia 2013 - some pics

My own Piaggio Cosa - not so mod-ish...

The Blacksmith Scooter Club from the Swedish town Eskilstuna, 110 km's from Stockholm, has an annual do called "Eskilsphenia". Guess where that came from!
Scooterist from middle and south Sweden attend on Vespas and Lambrettas. And some quirky one as well; like the Swedish "Getingen" from 1950.  A parade through the city, coffebreak and Northern Soul was on the agenda.

A LD 150 from 1957, actually tuned!

Cut downs are rare in Sweden.

A Heinkel Tourist, 4-stroke.

Scooter rideout in Stockholm

Yes, it has been "scooterfika" again (coffee, chatting and riding). A 1951 unrestored Vespa 125, a SS 180, a GL, a tuned Primavera, a couple of PX, a Lambretta TV 175 and my own Piaggio Cosa. After there was a rideout through central Stockholm.
